Background:

A large tech manufacturer needed to update their HR Ethics compliance training.  Their original attempt was to create a long video training. In a pilot release, it was poorly received. Our company was tasked with using the provided videos to create an engaging eLearning production.

Solution Developed:

The instructional designer created separate sections for each topic and created scenario-based activities and knowledge checks centered around the video content.

Results:

The result was an effective and engaging eLearning course that was well received by the company.

Design Thinking Collaboration

When using the Design Thinking methodology, two of the key elements during the analysis phase are to understand the real need and identify the best solution. Then work together using a rapid-development approach by coming up with ideas and implementing them with quickly designed prototypes. Then you review the prototypes with the client to determine what works and what doesn’t, then try again. This process helps you identify the best solution and not just “a solution”.

Making eLearning Accessible

The laws requiring websites and online training to be accessible have become more clearly defined. However, many clients are not aware of these laws and the need to have training materials that are accessible to people with disabilities. I developed this micro-learning to inform clients of the laws regarding accessibility and explain what it means to create accessible training.
