Glycemic Control Project
About the Project
Client: Pharmaceutical Company
Made with: Adobe Flash, Photoshop, 3D Studio Max
Time in Development: 4 Months
Collaborators: Daniel Villarreal, Instructional Designer/Writer, 3D Scene artist, production artist, MySQL programmer.
Background:
A large pharmaceutical company wanted a series of games to test the knowledge of their 1500 sales team members at a national sales training event. The event was held on a cruise ship for three days of a 7-day cruise. One of the biggest challenges was how to get that many people through each day in a limited amount of space.
Solution Developed:
We developed a multi-user game that allowed up to 5 people to play at once at each computer. Each person logged in with their unique ID, which allowed us to track their scores and compile their sales team scores. The game had moments where each person could answer individually and other times where they had to discuss their answers and respond with a group answer.
Using a 3d immersive game with an animated guide allowed the users to engage fully in the story, with the goal being to save the scientist.
Results:
The result was a 45-minute immersive game that challenged and engaged the learners. It was very successful and created the competitive learning environment that was desired by the clients. The scores were being tallied on a server in real-time and leader boards throughout the ship displayed the team leaders and top 10 individuals.
